So it has been over a year since my last update.  I feel bad really but my duties as the Pres...I mean Admiral have been keeping me busy.  I decided it was time however for me to get back into the popular college culture.  Every Admiral mus spend some time among his people so he can understand their needs.

I will post more when I am not swamped with fixing all of Keldon's crap.

Kids, try to make life easy on him this year, for me.

Well another pledge week has ended and I am glad to see that all those involved are still alive and well.  I hope that pledging turns out to be a beneficial experience for all of you.

How about that Super Bowl.  The south loses to the north once again. I hear from Eddy Ary that the trend has been that when an AFC team wins the Super Bowl the economy does not fair so well.  So while all the Patriots fans are celebrating their victory just remember that while life is great for them, they've screwed it up for everyone else.

So I have heard from certain sources that the whole Chi Delta banner rumor was nothing more than that, a rumor.  However it did mkae for a good story and I hope that someday a pledge banner will suffer such a fate.  Not because I have anything against social clubs, but because I want to encourage your creativity even if it means such random acts of vandalism as stealing a pledge banner and mailing it to the pledges in peices.  This is why OBU exists, to help students reach their full potential.  If your full potential is to live in a van down by the river we want to help you acheive that.  Granted we would much rather see you become the next president or govenor or some other really boring job like working as an accountant or maybe as the Dean of Students here at Ouachita, whatever floats your boat.  Do it to the utmost of you ability.

I think that tonight I will tell you all a little story about our wonderful dean of students.  Now you might not know this but Henley received a degree in music from out own Mabee School of Fine Arts.  Dr. Henley came to Oucahita and tried out for a voice scholarship.  He sang some great classical song for the falcuty judging him.  As soon as he had finished his audition they offered him an impressive piano scholarship.

So the rumor on campus is that the Chi Delta's had their banner stolen.  After that the names were cut out and mailed to each of the pledges.  WOW!!!!! Way to go kids.  Good job displaying those imaginations.  Now I do feel bad for the girls.  The banner was very nice and I know some serious time and money went into that BUT, thats stinkin awesome.  I think we should give out awards for such displays of genius.  No doubt Keldon will want to punish the perpatrators.  However I do think is at home this evening haveing a good laugh at the whole thing, as is every other person who heard about it.
